Monday Mix: Other Art

♥ My amazingly talented bff Chris McAlister did this mural... in 21 hours! He'll have a video of the process up soon too, so if you like to see gigantic amazing artwork being made, keep an eye out for that on his blog.

♥ Rebecca N. McKinnon writes about depression, motivation, and being an artist, as part of her new Wicked Wednesday/Sacred Sunday series. I love the idea and am really looking forward to this!

And I just got my beautiful print from Amanda of Earth Angels Art today, of her piece "Track Ways". Do take a look at her art - it's so dreamy and magical, I love it to bits. Can't wait to frame this on my art room wall!

Monday Mix: Inspiring Videos

Neat things of note...

♥ Wild Children: This was produced for the most part at one of our now monthly Arty weekends - my friends are so talented! This is an amazing story written (in about an hour, if you can believe it) and narrated by Rebecca McKinnon, with stop-motion animation and voice help by Sian Lewis, and sound design and voice help by Daniel Diaz BrauchAnd one voice by me, hehe  (〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ

♥ Amazing cut-out art by Mikito Ozeki

♥ Some music: Secrets by Bryson Andres. Ahhh, violin makes my heart feel crazy.

And Dicken Schraeder, with Milah & Korben, Everything Counts. These kids! This song. What a cool dad.

Monday Mix: Post-It Art, WIWT Blog Feature, and Zelda Music

♥ The Post-It War: Window art made with Post-Its! This reminds me of being in college, when I worked at a newspaper with another artist friend of mine, Chris McAlister (check out his portfolio... I promise you won't be disappointed, he's incredibly talented!) We decorated our shared cubicle with tons of Post-It scribbles, although nothing like this. Makes me want to give some window art a try.

My last WIWT drawing was featured on the What I Wore Today blog! I love this group <3 I'm still excited for the book, 2012 please!

And some music... since David's been playing Ocarina of Time lately, I've been listening to this piano/violin medley of Zelda songs while I work. Give it a listen even if you're not familiar with Zelda, it's absolutely beautiful:

Look for another Wednesday WIWT this week, and possibly a final on Friday!

FEST Treasure Hunt, blog feature, new Etsy items

a few quick updates...

1. I donated a set of greeting cards for the FEST: Florida Etsy Street Team Treasure Hunt, starting May 1! You don't have to be a member of the team or even Etsy to play. Take a look at some of the prizes here: Florida Etsy Street Team Treasure Hunt Challenge!

2. Artist Elaine Alonzo featured my painting Lucky in a recent blog post - be sure to check out the rest of her blog, she's a talented lady.

3. While these aren't new paintings, they are two new listings in my Etsy shop

I've been going through all of my originals and deciding which ones to list that haven't been yet; hopefully I will have a few more listed in the next week or so, along with new prints! (The printers I use are a little slow; thus begins the excited but impatient wait for the mail...)
